Pros
As most will say, the benefits are excellent. The company is growing rapidly. Free food and drinks. Free t-shirts, when they remember to order them.
Cons
As a manager, I feel like I've taken a huge step back in my career with this company. The directors have created a micromanaging culture that leaves little room for managers to use our experience and creativity. Its a suffocating environment. Although there is free food, we frequently hear upper management complain about the portion sizes people take and how many drinks they have each day. These seem to be more important than providing meaningful process direction. The company has also adopted public shaming in the daily newsletter by reporting failures by each team. There is minimal recognition for successes and frequent disciplining for mistakes. The turnover is extremely high. The work schedule is very non-family friendly. Lots of weekend work and late night schedules. Managers rarely get holidays off and don't get any holiday pay when they work. Directors lack leadership experience and disregard lower level management needs. The poor leadership at higher levels of management bleeds throughout the staff and has created a very poor and confused working environment.
