Pros

Awesome orientation and training. A lot of nurses here are very educated and smart. Very competent at their work etc. There is a sense of teamwork environment and you are not left behind if you need help.

Cons

nursing has a high turn over rate due to so many new hospitals opening ie with kaiser and ucsd. hard to get a day off if you work the same shift as another nurse who's been there for 20 years.

Pros

Great teamwork, nurses have great representation from the union (UNAC-SPNN), and competitive wages (recently improved as of 2026). Fair sick time, benefits, and attendance policy. Excellent opportunities for career advancement through in-service, entity classes, tuition reimbursement, and partnership with Guild which offers some graduate degrees that are partially or completely covered depending on the program/university.

Cons

The higher levels of management have demonstrated an unrealistic perspective about staff, misrepresenting our wages in news interviews and difficult to work with when trying to resolve issues with the union. Mixed messages about the financial state of the company resulting in layoffs while simultaneously bidding on expansion projects and building multiple new, state-of-the-art facilities.
