It was portrayed to be a very rewarding and educational experience, but ended up dramatic. Lots of free stuff though! - Operations Specialist Sephora Employee Review

Pros

Some Education, training and sometimes even videos to watch on the clock. Free food, and lots and lots of free product; some very genuinely nice people. If you are willing to play politics!

Cons

The Cast Members are generally catty and enjoy having a sour attitude towards each other. Always being judged on appearance before clocking in. Not being able to show up unless you have 2 tons of makeup on, and resemble a star trek crew member in a rumored Pablo Gurren designer "tunic". Hours are promised but never delivered. Rewards and bonuses are disappointing. No room for improvement within the store you were trained in. Anyone who moves up in position ends up relocating because of transfer requirements.

Pros

Friendly, knowledgeable, supportive coworkers. Management is generally pretty good. You get to work with all the fun products and learn directly from brand reps. And the customers are there to learn about the products - and you get to talk to them about the best products. If you're excited about Sephora, go apply!

Cons

Hours vary based on the time of the year.
