I have been working at Sephora full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Love the gratis, especially if you were elevated and full time, you got the best of the best products. Have enough free product to last me for years
-Sense of belonging- if you're fun, enthuastic, down to earth, you'd have an amazing time at Sephora, met some of my best friends there
-Connections to the industry- met so many people and brands through networking at Sephora- take advantage and stand out and be friendly- it can easily land you a job when leaving Sephora ( do not ever talk about it at Sephora though, you will be fired)

    Cons

-Not enough pay (especially when you crossed worlds and had knowledge of makeup, skincare, and cash.
-Long hours, unless you become more elevated or senior, you're schedule is really random, I did not ever do closing shifts because they loved me and I worked hard so they were afraid i would leave
-Annoying rude clients- learn to walk away or be calm. You'll meet the most wonderful and most stupid people.
-Suddently youre a cleaner, a makeup artist, a cashier and a fragrance expert. Expect to know everything as clients will question you about every world and product so if knowledge and education isnt' t your strong suit, dont apply here.

    Advice to Management

Learn to be more professional, higher wages, be fair and treat people more equally. Once a cast member was not held important or trying to get promoted, they would lose focus on them until they became miserable and quit, Its fine not to want to work towards something higher at Sephora, just treat cast more fairly as long as they meet their job requirements.

    I worked at Sephora part-time

    Pros

gratis, discount of 20% sometimes 30% off the entire store Occasionally brands provide 40%

    Cons

limited movement within the company, high turn over rate, big management team that has different groups of favourites

    Advice to Management

take better care of staff to avoid high turn over rate. Managers know they have a line up of people wanting work for the company so employees are disposable

I worked at Sephora part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved the people that worked there, such a great atmosphere, amazing managers

    Cons

The pay was too low especially for colour consultants, no tips, no commission

    Advice to Management

Allow tips to be received by colour consultants and its unacceptable that they are getting paid the same amount as cashiers. It took them too long to elevate me in the company such as being CM Certified and by then I was over it and already in the colour consultant position for about a year.
