Pros

-Some gratis - it seems to be less and less and every year -Good discount -Well-known partnerships and popular brands -Quality products

Cons

There are so many, I don't know where to start. Every con mentioned is true - the backstabbing, the gossiping, high turnover, and lack of females empowering each other. Every department has some variation of it, but it's consistent across the company. It's a beauty company, yet cis-men hold many of the executive leadership roles. (Hi patriarchy) I have both seen and experienced senior management stealing ideas from brighter, more junior employees for their own gain and development. I have watched people, mostly women of color, stagnate FOR YEARS in roles their white counterparts (and many MBA grads) did not. This company touts diversity and inclusiveness, which you may find in some stores, but HQ is most certainly not. Promotions are all pre-determined based on friendships and pedigrees. Egos run rampant at Sephora. Good luck being respected or heard if you do not hold a Director or above title. Junior employees are expected to shut up and do what they are told. Managers are terrible. Across the organization, they are bullies with elitist attitudes. Paid-time off is only 20 days. Benefits and perks are terrible. No daycare, stocked kitchens, or state-of-the-art offices like many other Bay Area companies. If you want a free makeup brush every six months, come to Sephora. If you want to experience career growth, a living wage, and just general human decency, please seek employment elsewhere.
