Pros
Safeway is a great learning ground for strategic sourcing. They are a very sophisticated knowledgeable sourcing department. Safeway also recognizes the value in rotating sourcing professionals so they get to see different categories and experiences.
Cons
Same issues you deal with in any large corporate company. Too many approvals needed to make changes, and can't react fast enough. Recent merger with Albertsons gives some job stability questions. Overall not many cons, great company.
