Pros
There is a lot of status attached to working for Rolls-Royce, and in my experience you will get out of it what you put in - usually more. The salary depends on being in the right place at the right time and picking up high status jobs that you provide solutions for regularly
Cons
RR has put everyone on the towers-Watson scale (goes from 1 to 23) but to me it cannot make sense that there are so few technical specialists at grade 14 and above (I believe there are only 55) in an organisation of 40000 people. Consequently if you are interested in high tech then don't expect to necessarily get well paid or for there to be much of a community for advancing it.
