Arrogant managers standing in the way of progress - Aircraft Design Engineer Rolls-Royce Employee Review

I joined RR Derby as an 'aircraft design engineer' with an head full of ambitions and ideas but was quickly let down. The intention was to use my experience to help them develop their capabilities in aircraft design and in particular to better understand the airframe-engine integration process. The recruitment process dragged on months but I used that time preparing for the role which included generating ideas, gathering resources and carrying out research on proposals etc. I was really excited to be starting here but it proved to be a massive let down. Instead of working in aircraft design I was pushed into another role which was nothing more that prolonging the life of tired old engines. It was a completely different job which was a complete waste of my time and experience. Their poor management and processes that I witnessed have now completely tainted my view of Rolls-Royce and I now refuse to use their engines on any of my future aircraft design projects.
