Pros

Good company to work for overall. Pay is not TOO bad (although it's kind of ironic that as an account manager or BANKER we would advise people on house purchase, while we can not even afford our own, when a person with no education who only spreads concrete (literally) earns more than 1.5 times your salary. There is opportunity for advancement but take my word for it: Research or find out about the manager you are going to work for and do everything in your power to be placed under someone who gives a hoot.

Cons

A manager will make or break your experience with the bank. Good managers: the ones who train, advance, push people are too few in between. Bad managers: the ones who do not treat their branch as a business but more of a "job" are abundant. Personally I had a sour experience with mine who only came to her office to do what she needed to do as a manager and went home and only acted as a "leader" (read: did her mandate) when she got under pressure from RVP. No one would move within the branch, no one would educate you about opportunities, etc. Salary increase are ridiculous. You are lucky to get 2% "raise". When argued that this does not even keep up with the cost of living it turns into a blame game over who decides salaries and it's never managers fault. And this is coming from one of the top performers in the market.

Pros

Stable work life balance. The culture is really great, very easy to work with complex management and managers. Willing to help you grow and learn with clients

Cons

Not a lot of room for growth unless you come in the door with that expectation. It can be very easy to get stuck in this role as your pay slowly increases and the job title mostly stays the same. Associate promotions and raises are rarely given and take a lot of coercion to get.
