Good learning experience from the genuine workaholics. But, beware of people who put up the show and propaganda but do nothing at all (literally nothing at all). It’s free money for many. Just come to work, narrate stories for an hour or two and leave. In that hour or two, go for coffee breaks, chit chat and name it networking and then leave with an excuse - that you need to repair your car(every alternate day), pick up kids from school/activities, make your kids sick everyday(like literally the everyday excuse of course not true at all - but they go down to that level that they lie about such things) and then leave for home and never log back in or log in for that available online status(managing appearances) but don’t attend the calls/meetings/ complete any work. Easy! Repeat it again tomorrow. If staying far, do join that "unacknowledged" union who would spread the false word for you that they saw you at the work today or you just left due to an emergency. No need to actually show up. Friends will do the work for you of covering up. But then what about key card tap? Oh, someone will tap it for you, why worry? It is all covered by friends and the union.

Management L6 AND LOWER are all biased and two faced: Most of the team members till date come in to office 1 or 2 days when it is mandatory 4 days. Yes Most! Believe it or not. Networking gets your cards scanned for system attendance and they are working from home happily. It’s a huge scam going in for years post COVID. Hold fake interviews for Canadian talent (i.e people who studied in Canada(emptying their parent's bank accounts by paying 4 times tuitions compare to the domestic students/ domestic students) - any and every recent grads. The system is thriving as they have fixed deals under the table to hire contract workers from these vendors especially India. It’s an immigration scam they are running. They invite these people to work on contract(work permit) and they make their points to apply for the PR(1-2 years). Once they send the application for PR, they leave the vendor company and join RBC as full time employees. Talent has no value in such situations. Doesn’t matter if you hold top certifications or have graduation from top university in the world. The scam is to invite a minimum number of people yearly for some higher ups to hold their seats and reputation. Might also be getting some commission under the table who knows - like a second income in cash. Coming to company multiculturalism : this is seriously a joke! As you walk on a floor or lunch room or some in house events, all you see is faces from dominant country(not due to over population/talent but due to the ongoing scams). People have unsaid unions and only people who speak the regional language or belong to their country or states are in it and nobody - yes nobody can do any harm or damage to them as they are all around, everywhere! They will keep an eye on you whether you are on your desk, lunch or washroom. Yes! Washroom too. Too much micromanagement. You can never satisfy them in performance as of course the staff hired from vendors(friends with the managers, VPs - only they perform well - by doing nothing at all) rest are all just there. Only they get increments and raises and perks - Bahamas cruise, employee recognition. These people have zero integrity. If you are one of them, you can climb up the ladder real fast - like really - L8 to L6 or L5 in months. Proofs are there as people did receive those increments even if the talent at core is 0%. More qualified candidates are like a threat to them and their positions so they will never let you stay in peace as they always have insecurities. Speaking up for the injustice is again a joke, everyone is busy to sponsor Taylor swift concerts and that Jays/Raptors game and cruises that nobody will care of this. It’s all corrupt beneath the surface. Coming to the point - benefits: it’s again a scam. So they cover everything except dental, vision. But, silly you - you forgot of the corruption here too - T&C apply* when they say they cover everything- it means you pay for your whatever - sickness, dental, vision, special gadgets for health, meds, gym, etc for upto 2000CAD first - out of your pocket, not reimbursable and anything beyond that will be covered by them - if you satisfy the second set of T&C. So sickness or need: you will have to spend the 2K from your pocket first. It is not covered by the company. Mental health: yes you have like 6-8 free sessions yearly. Rather go for the free ones the Government provides, its free. As again, beyond 6-8 sessions, your pocket. Only reason they call themselves the best in tech and are kind of thriving is because there is not much real competition in Canada so they are at a locational advantage in tech as negligible competition from the big 5. They will struggle with this talent, ethics, culture in the Silicon Valley. They should think of the future they maybe aiming for with this approach. Fun story: the HR will hang up on you with some attitude for their mistakes on various critical matters such as salary not received due to incorrect SIN they used. Your hair will turn grey following up and you will be in critical debt but they will not care or prioritize issue resolution for 3-4 months. Reason: they are at a privilege because of the unsaid existing union. How can they we wrong? Can they?! Not at all! Another interesting story: we are entitled for 15 -20 paid holidays depending on the years of experience on an average. But many, take like 30 or more paid days at their own will, How on earth is that possible now? Well simple, be from that union I mentioned, never input your holidays on workday, Go for a month and they will cover your absence. Who will know if you report to the same community person? Then? Well you already got your 30 days paid off by not entering on workday, you still have those 15 days remaining right that you can enter and go officially next time. This happens when you hire 5 people to do 1 person job by deception. This is way too common than you can imagine. May of the people from the senior management, were about their retiring age, and were to leave in a year or two. Now, they didn’t like coming in to the office. They support these unions under the table(they are not from same cultural background). It’s a win-win situation under the table. The old VPs get to vacation all year round and the others reporting to them get their ways out and do whatever they like (hire whoever they want, maybe also get some commission from these hires, retain that union without a fear) why? Cause the upper management is asking for huge favors like this from them. They log in hardly 15-20 days per year or maybe visit in person like 8-10 days per year to maintain the appearances. Rest is all covered for them. Who will figure out if you are not on your desk all day ? Couldn't that mean that you are super busy running into meetings in different rooms on different floors and behind the scene not show up at all?! Instead, show up at a beach - chilling! You always have the luxury to get that green on your status - online because the company provides higher-ups with a phone you can log in from anywhere. How cool is this system. Some get to vacay all year, and never have fear of anything. Coming to last part: who does the actual work ? Well: if you can justify why actual work planned value of let’s say 100,000K has a Budget at completion of 400,000K by quoting baseless complexities that you can explain in gibberish or wordy way to the management - they will not question more thinking you know better, Nobody will ever question 3-4 times inflated(literally)initial budget or if they do just confuse them, The people who know of the system but are not part of this system will never speak against them due to the fear of job security as their network is huge. They can do whatever. Everyone gets to party and everyone is them. The employee surveys (the ones for your team and managers) are all biased ofcourse. Guess who would get the promotion and bonus for all the hard work ? Of course the one who went on the 2 month vacation without logging days on workday, the one who was on permanent vacation and showed up 10 days. What about others ? Well they did nothing to get increments or bonuses?! All they did was the actual work, everyday, truly and genuinely! They aren’t special to deserve that 10K or promotion.
