Pros

Used to be lots of friendly people with many years of experience and tribal knowledge to lean on for help.

Cons

For more than 10 years I loved my job, and swore I would never leave voluntarily. So getting laid off and having to train my replacement in India really sucked. Word is offshore team has not been doing well, through no fault of their own. Doesn't seem to be any accountability at the top for poor planning and execution. The optics of reducing cost by moving jobs to India, while also continuing to acquire companies one or more times per year, and spending hundreds of millions on the India office, looks really bad. How could this not ruin morale for any remaining US employees? And what about the customers?

Thank you for sharing your experience. It’s clear you cared deeply about your role, your colleagues, and the company. We understand that workforce changes, especially those involving global shifts, can be incredibly difficult. While our goal is to position the business for long-term success and growth, we recognize that how these transitions are handled — for both people and teams — matters just as much. We always try to approach any employee impacts with compassion, empathy and transparency. With great support from our global teams, which all have knowledge of our products, we have been very successful with ramping up our product engineering teams in India. The teams have done a fantastic job of defining and delivering on our roadmap and initiatives. Our ELT leaders strive to create a culture of openness and ability to ask questions via our “Ask Us Anything” sessions. We hope these sessions help to provide a better understanding around decisions being made and why. Thank you again for your candor and for the years you spent helping build this company. We wish you nothing but the best in your next chapter.

Pros

Working at Planview has provided me with the opportunity to grow professionally while collaborating with talented and supportive teams across the organization. As a Senior Global Training Consultant, I’ve had the chance to work closely with customers around the world, helping them adopt solutions that improve portfolio management, strategic planning, and operational efficiency. One of the things I value most about Planview is the culture of collaboration and innovation. There is a genuine willingness across teams to share knowledge, support one another, and continuously improve the customer experience. I also appreciate the flexibility to explore new ideas and technologies, especially around AI-enabled learning, customer enablement, and modern training approaches. The company encourages continuous learning and provides opportunities to expand both technical and professional skills. Over the years, I’ve been able to deepen my expertise in enterprise portfolio management while also contributing to new initiatives that help customers realize greater value from the platform. What has kept me here is the combination of meaningful customer impact, strong team relationships, and the ability to continue learning and evolving in my role. It’s rewarding to work for a company that values innovation, customer success, and employee contributions.

Cons

Like many growing technology companies, Planview operates in a fast-paced environment where priorities and initiatives can evolve quickly. At times, balancing multiple projects and organizational changes can be challenging, especially in customer-facing roles that support global teams and clients across different time zones. Because Planview continues to innovate and expand its product capabilities, there can also be a learning curve with new processes, tools, or strategic initiatives. However, for individuals who enjoy continuous learning, collaboration, and adapting to change, these challenges can also create strong opportunities for professional growth and skill development.
