Pros

Flexible work locations, interesting work, lots of learning opportunities to improve capabilities.

Cons

Long hours, high demands, lack of ownership, broad blame culture, poor compensation package. When subordinates ask for help its often deflected back to them on how they should solve their problem.

Thanks for taking the time to leave this feedback. The experience you've described, including blame culture, long hours, and feeling like help isn't there when you need it, isn't something we want to hear, and it's not the kind of workplace we aim to create. We've been focused on addressing exactly these things: stronger manager support, clearer expectations around workload and delivery, and making sure that asking for help is met with actual help, not redirection. We're also looking hard at how we set delivery expectations, because burning people out to hit a budget isn't something we're willing to accept. We’re seeing positive signs in our most recent internal pulse survey, which had over 80% participation, with an overall score of 76 and an eNPS of +20. We’re encouraged by these numbers, but we know they don’t capture every experience. We’re sorry your experience didn’t reflect the workplace we strive to be.

Pros

Orium seems to be hitting its stride. I've watched the transition of Myplanet to Orium as the company embraced composable commerce. Some early projects were really difficult, in particular in 2020-2021, but I see us getting better and better now with each new client as the expertise and experience in the company continues to grow. The company is definitely at the forefront of a market that is seeing growth. I've never worked at a company when they were so clearly in the right place at the right time the way Orium is right now. I appreciate the transparency of management on priorities at the regular all-hands and Q&A sessions. This includes updates on key operating metrics and financial health data. Given the uncertainty in the world right now I find it reassuring to know the company is doing well. Things are fast paced and you have to like that kind of environment. I find I'm always learning and able to take on new challenges that push me out of my comfort zone. The leadership that I work with are smart, supportive and approachable.

Cons

Growth and change means growing pains. I noticed two leaders who seemed spread too thin last year end. It impacted me less but I could see their stress was starting to affect their direct teams. More recently their responsibilities have been changed to be more manageable. I think HR also intervened based on feedback/complaints and I've noticed a change for the better. They're empowering their teams more and micro-managing them less. Another example is 1:1s getting cancelled or not happening at all in some of our project teams last year. Management re-organized this process at the end of 2022 and this seems to have improved. I appreciate that management acts to improve things, and it's probably unavoidable at a company growing this fast, but I wish we could avoid some of these challenges in the first place.

Pros

- people - location - benefits - challenges that help you grow professionally - Mindfulness Mondays were great to take the break and reflect

Cons

- some people needed more structure than others - could be a culture shock for those that come from an larger enterprise organization.

Really appreciate your time writing this review. It sounds like a lot of your experience here at Myplanet resonated with you. I appreciate your time contributing to forums such as SOTU, Company Q&A, Morning Coffee and for providing feedback into our bi-weekly one-on-one feedback sessions. The best ideas we have heard and implemented come from those sessions. We try to be up-front that individuals who need extensive structure may not be a fit here at Myplanet. We're looking for those who can bring new ideas and challenges to our team. Thank-you again for your positive contributions to our story.
