Pros

Great opportunity working in CART. Learn a lot, great exposure to start and propel your career. Heavy politics, can work in your favor, favoritism driven, can work in your favor, can work in your favor. These aren’t really that bad but if this is your first Rodeo be careful. A lot of great normal, nice people in the High value but Media value stream is rough and toxic. Great pay, awesome healthcare, good overtime, nighttime 10% differential. Huge impact on lives, great purpose, high stakes, exciting cutting edge, highly leverageable for future prospects. Diverse work force, worked along side some of the most admirable, value driven and hardworking people. Leads run your future, don’t be naive… Not the place for being soft. Is the place for go getters and highly metric driven. If your work is good you are untouchable, you can be a terrible person. This is only morris plains. Novartis east hanover is heaven. Everyone is nicer, respectful, acts professional and like adults. Less step on someone to get ahead mentality. Great for first science job, or second at most.

Cons

Don’t over stay your welcome. Make friends with your leads and supervisors. If you aren’t on their good side or in their friend group you are in deep waters. Some people get away with big mess ups or being tardy and some people get reamed for minimal mess ups and being late 2 min on the floor. Heavy politics use it to your advantage or get crushed by it. Clear biases for who gets trained and who gets more exposure first. It’s not a horrible work place but on the scale of good to bad it means more towards bad. But it’s high stakes drug manufacturing comes with the territory. Supervisors/leave really don’t care about you, unless you are their buddy. College kids run the show without any idea of what it takes to be a good supervisor or lead. Can be standoffish. It’s hard to understand why people need to act so petty. Many frustrating nights, many nights where you question how people can be so rude. Your lead runs your future… 90% If you are a good person but struggle you are treated poorly.

Pros

Pays pretty well in comparison to similar jobs in the market

Cons

Unstable schedule where you are often asked to come in overnight (1-2 am) regardless of if you have worked the previous day or are off. Basically feels like you're permanently on-call to conduct environmental monitoring. Training is slow. The Micro dept in general is currently understaffed. The job also involves lab work once you are done with your daily environmental monitoring tasks. The work never ceases and the Technicians as a whole has several responsibilities. Promotions seem to come very slowly here.
