Pros

Millions of CHFs are set aside for programs that are relative to today's job market, and work place. Compounds are beautiful with lots of places to eat on campus. Higher salaries. Produces life saving products. Marketing team might be good at marketing.

Cons

Too many layers of management that relevant programs are not trickled down to other levels besides top management. Pay for performance are antiquated and favors the top staff, since they are in the position to say who performed well or not. New blood are brought into the company, but ideas are knocked down. Lots of time are spent in meetings, so who has time for creativity. Too much change in management as most just come in for a quick spin and to go to another company for salary negotiation. You only climb the ladder if you have a sponsor as this has nothing to do with your capabilities. Money is wasted on duplication of effort. Be careful as there is a high rate of burn-out.

Pros

Pays pretty well in comparison to similar jobs in the market

Cons

Unstable schedule where you are often asked to come in overnight (1-2 am) regardless of if you have worked the previous day or are off. Basically feels like you're permanently on-call to conduct environmental monitoring. Training is slow. The Micro dept in general is currently understaffed. The job also involves lab work once you are done with your daily environmental monitoring tasks. The work never ceases and the Technicians as a whole has several responsibilities. Promotions seem to come very slowly here.
