Pros

Flexibility. Time off is almost always granted, save for dates around major deadlines. If you're a Senior analyst or higher, you have a laptop and can work from home pretty much any time you want. Even entry level analysts can work from home occasionally. The software is in place. Two weeks of fully paid Paternity leave. That's Paternity with a "P". The Bonus structure is very generous. Entry level analysts get 5% cash bonus for meeting expectations. Senior analysts get 10%. Exceeding expectations can get 7.5%/18%, respectively. Mercer outsourcing is a pretty young company. People are generally friendly, and the office atmosphere is not politically driven. There is usually one type of social or philanthropic event a month, like a canned food drive, chili cook off. I think this, however minimally, makes people want to stay here, not the opposite.

Cons

Inferior software. The system is not built to handle the large, complex contracts that are now being chased. There are frequent system lockups and slow downs. This can be seen as a positive, as the software is more flexible than other better developed, but more rigid benefit systems. 401k match. Benefits handbook states 25% of 6% is guaranteed, and the remaining 75% of the 6% is variable. Average is 25-40% additional match, for a total of 50-65% of 6%.

Pros

Remote flexibility, which is nice.

Cons

You will not get a raise and if you do, it'll be 1%. Managers will not help you with escalating issues, you're on your own. It'll be blamed on you. You'll work so much overtime you won't have a social life.
