Pros

Above average compensation that sticks out in similar positions. Feeling of making a difference in patient lives. Above average benefits and pension.

Cons

Extreme dead end feeling in Customer Service. Very exploitative culture. The work is done by all the front line reps and the supervisors and above get a "share" (larger bonus) of Medtronic's success while the CS reps get chump change (a small department bonus each quarter which is taxed at high rate. After tax, bonus is insignificant). CS reps don't get a share of any success with Medtronic. Very manipulative rhetoric. Very low morale in Northridge location. They claim and say that we are one team but in actuality, we are not. More praise is given in San Antonio and since Customer Service hiring is in Texas, they are no longer doing any development in Northridge. Most reps in Northridge are realizing that the end is coming and it makes it a chore to come to work. They have slowly added teams in Texas which Northridge could be handling without telling us. More work functions are being moved from CA to TX. They keep that hidden as well....once mgt has all the things they need to make TX their main operation location (cost of labor is lower in TX), they will transfer everything to Texas and CA customer Service department will be laid off. The stress and low morale is starting to show with some supervisors as well. No other positions to move in Northridge. Very limited positions come up rarely. Very poor attempts to raise Morale. They instituted a program to try to raise morale but everybody in SOS and POS is not impressed and see it for what it truly is. Workers are seen more as a means to an end and not treated as people as well. Certain talented temps who worked very hard and should've been offered full time regular employment were not. Most reps worked over a year being a temp! Very poor business decision making. Bringing on complex technology that makes it harder to do our jobs, that has less reliability then our previous system. That major investment that they made could've been directed in other things like raising morale and bringing on more talent. Secretive management communications.

Pros

The best company I’ve ever worked for.

Cons

Really can’t think of many. It’s heavily matrixed but that’s to be expected.
