      Pros

      The best part of working for Medtronic was the people that I came into contact with. Most of my co-workers and managers over the years were wonderful people who worked hard, encouraged and participated in a collaborative environment and believed in work-life balance.

      Cons

      There weren't many formal career advancement opportunities for sales support employees although the management did try to provide/create informal opportunities for advancement and enrichment.

      Really can’t think of many. It’s heavily matrixed but that’s to be expected.

      Pros

      Generous, old-school benefits. Almost twice the PTO as other places I've worked, excellent healthcare, 401K matching, etc. Many high-quality colleagues and a generally mellow, polite business culture.

      Cons

      Multiple competing bureaucracies, internal consultancies, a computer-illiterate 'stakeholder' class with permission to disrupt anything, and perverse incentives driving waste.
