Pros
The Service Desk used to be a great place to start a career in IT. You gained experience then were able to move on to another company or move up in the company. I was the later and the company was like family. The Director of IT Operations truly cares for and is vested in her employees.
Cons
Senior management only cares about saving a few bucks to make the bottom line look better to investors by outsourcing instead of standing by the talent and loyalty of their employees.
