Lots of autonomy and responsibility - Anonymous employee LiveRamp Employee Review

Pros

LiveRamp places a high degree of trust in their employees. This means that if you identify something that needs to be worked on, odds are you can just start working on it and de-prioritize less important work. Additionally, the only ceiling to the level of impact one can have at LiveRamp is their own ability. The more you accomplish, the more responsibility you'll get. This means LiveRamp is a great place to accelerate your career and increase your level of exposure to problems you haven't encountered before. The people are fantastic to work with too. Everyone here is really smart and works really hard. This is the only reason LiveRamp can operate in the way it does -- placing so much trust in employees and giving them so much autonomy. The workplace perks are pretty great too -- catered lunches 3 days a week, beautiful offices, flexible work hours and style (working from home is completely fine when you need to), dogs in the office.

Cons

This comes back to the autonomy piece, but LiveRamp isn't great at top-down directives. As such, in order to get stuff done, it's absolutely essential to get buy-in from stakeholders. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just different from most larger companies. It's also a fairly chaotic organization. Things move fast and we definitely don't always get things right the first time. Sometimes progress can feel like two steps forward and one step back, but overall it trends positively. Also, transitioning between roles within the company can be a little messy. It's not uncommon for people to end up with responsibilities from their old role carrying over into their new role. From my perspective, this isn't the ideal way to do transitions. Work-life balance is what you make it here. There's always more that needs to be done but it's up to individuals to find a good balance between executing against objectives and having a life outside of work.

Many thanks for describing your LiveRamp experience in detail. I'm glad that you're enjoying the work and the team! Also, your advice rings very true to me. I think we're in our teenage years as a company: growing fast and with a promising future ahead, but also clumsy at times. Feedback is the fuel we use to get better; thanks again for sharing yours. -Brandon
