Pros

LiveRamp is unlike most enterprise companies, even by SV standards. In my tenure at the company it was unwaveringly committed to the mantra of hiring from within and hiring folks who are "nice, smart, and gets things done" over almost any other attribute. It created a great opportunity for employees to grow and rotate around the company to find a fit -- and ultimately move up, as folks get promoted very regularly. In some sense, this is a luxury afforded as much by its value as by the exponential growth of the company. Almost everyone at LiveRamp is incredibly nice. I can't think of a single "brilliant jerk" we hired. I was surprised to read a review that mentioned politics -- I had a fairly senior role and rarely encountered it to a tangible degree, but I suppose different parts of the company do run differently. LiveRamp's ability to retain its character after the acquisition was a huge reassurance for us -- typically when Oracle acquires a company, most folks leave -- almost every single person who was at LiveRamp pre-acquisition is still there.

Cons

I think most of LiveRamp's challenges are an adverse consequence of their philosophy of promoting from within. As other reviews have noted, the company did have some difficulties scaling -- it impacts some teams more than others, but it does sometimes feel like some teams are being reorganized regularly, which inevitably creates execution overhead. For folks starting from scratch, there is a certain degree of bootstrapping required, and I think the company can be perceived to more senior hires as less conventional and perhaps less welcoming. As the company matures, I do think its culture is becoming a lot more conducive to experienced contributors. It does sometimes feels like decisions get handed down from above, although in my experience that happens only when execution in a particular function is lagging behind the rest of the organization.
