Pros

The 15% associate discount is pretty good and the job is okay if you want experience or are building a resume.

Cons

The pay is god awful. A barista at Dunkin Donuts makes more than most employees at Kohl's. People who have worked ten years at Kohls makes the same amount as a fresh hire. It's unbelievable. The benefits are non existent too and there is no real work/life balance either. In order to get some hours, you have to open up your availability every day including weekends so every work week will be completely random. My store is filled with a lot of neurotic woke women and diversity hires so there can be quite a lot of drama happening between associates and managers over petty crap reminiscent of high school. H2's and managers play favorites and only care about making credit. Many of them are annoying authoritarian's that micromanage other employees to the point where they start to doubt their abilities.

Cons

Little to no training been working here for almost a year now there’s still something I don’t know every day. What was most difficult for me was being at registers as I was trained in two days by shadowing someone. There are so many situations and problems that will come up every day and you will learn something new! They never taught me about Kohl’s cash, how to read receipts, reprint or edit receipts. They schedule so little so when you do learn something there’s no chance of rehearsal because you come in three weeks later working at a different department.
