Cons
Having worked in the marketing/advertising industry for many years, I was up for the "fast-paced work environment". From the moment I started, I could sense tension within the department. You have to be on Red Bull intravenously to work here. Within the first 2-3 weeks, I saw 2 people break down and cry within my department. In addition, I saw numerous emails from management announcing people resigning every day. Many young people have no clue that the crazy pace at this place isn't normal. The workload is utterly unfathomable. Hundreds of emails a day, clients and upper management emailing all hours of the night (do these people sleep)? It is great that they offer so many "perks" but too bad no one has time to enjoy them given the ridiculous workload and pace. Their idea of being strategic is pushing clients to do things that aren't in the client's best interest to meet revenue goals. The great culture and work-life balance they promote in interviewing is nothing but a means to get you in the door. I've never experienced workload, stress, cliques, email overload, and turnover anywhere like this place in all my years in the business. The people who left positive reviews of this place are interal PR spokespeople who are trying to save their image because of high turnover and employee dissatisfaction.
