Pros

People: folks are generally friendly Benefits: good benefits

Cons

Negative work life balance, and impossible to set boundaries. For e.g. being called when you are at hospital to ask for an email which you had already sent weeks ago but the partner "forgot, cuz busy" and now the priorities have changed at the last minute. Had to raise several hr complaints and it messed up my promotion. Ofcourse legally you can't be discriminated for raising your hand when you see harassing/unethical behavior. Prefer to hire someone than promote based on merit. Some partners are pretty unethical and coerce you into being one. Look up the fines we are paying for these leaders indiscretions..

Pros

It might sound cliche but the Pro for me is the people that I work with. I'm lucky enough to be staffed in a team with great leadership. Managers are actually willing to coach junior members and be a real mentor. I very much appreciate their efforts.

Cons

Long hours and office politics. This is pretty basic and obvious for any public accounting firms. Every time a quarter end, year end, or a special filing is going out, you can expect 10-14 hour days. It might be fine in your early career but it gets really tiring after a few years.
