Pros

Good office atmosphere, even as an intern communication with Senior Management is on a first name basis. Internship gives the opportunity to be involved in multiple projects and experience a large variety of work. Very good salary package.

Cons

At the interview, the internship was described as being fully involved in a project team. In reality, I found that I was only supporting the project team from the office, since the company didn't want to pay the travel/hotel expenses for an intern to participate in on-site activities. This is most likely different, in the Audit functions, but unfortunately this is how I experienced it in IT Advisory. The complex administration structure limits the possibilities of employees a lot with respect to their IT needs. Every special issue needs seperate approvel, which takes ages to get.

Pros

You get to work with an awesome, highly resilient group of local peers in the advisory practice. The KPMG brand still holds value, but the internal team dynamics have become incredibly fractured.

Cons

We have outsourced 80%+ of our Risk Advisory work, leaving onshore seniors with massive gaps in their experience. As a manager, I am stuck doing senior-level work because I typically have only one or zero local seniors or associates on my teams. The best leaders have already resigned because this model prevents actual management and mentoring. Also, it might take you 30+ years to become partner in Risk Advisory, if at all.
