Pros

- (Most of) the people - The perks (snacks, food, sponsored intramural sports, happy hours, holiday parties, etc.) - The feel of a "fast paced tech environment" - Good Training & Development (T&D) program Overall it was a good work experience learning the recruitment advertising industry. Indeed and competitors have played a major role in shifting the old-school mentality of Human Resources and Corporate Recruiting. It was exciting to be a part of it, and experience the beginning of their now massive corporate growth. Indeed was fast paced and fun, with a young environment and tons of perks. You're able to bond with your co-workers, both inside and outside of work, and forge great relationships.

Cons

- The Management Team - Favoritism on Promotions / Politics - Simplicity of product leads to feeling inept The product is (for the most part) a "one trick pony". Once you have attained a certain Indeed skill-set and working knowledge, it leaves you wondering "What's next?" To add to that, the management team of Past, Present (overheard from co-workers I know are still at Indeed), and (likely) in the Future is very much your typical high school clique. 1:1's were filled with drama and gossip; management making false promises on growth and promotions or career trajectory; or taking ideas and using them to their own benefit. At the time I was there, the company went through a major overhaul, and the entire Small Business (SMB) tier went through a re-brand, which I believe was necessary for the better of the business, but it lead to many peculiar and strange promotions. This led many to believe there was strong favoritism among the masses. That's not even mentioning how some of the management team behaved in social settings. I witnessed management swipe serious employee injuries (influenced by corporate funded Happy Hours) under the rug. I had seen senior leaders engage in altercations with bar patrons at the local bars (which by the way are flooded with Indeed people every night of the week) -- these two occasions among many others.

Pros

I loved the talented people I worked with; I appreciated being appreciated; I loved helping employers hire; and I really thought this would be the company I retired from.

Cons

The company culture changed significantly after it became publicly traded; I didn't particularly care for how they handled layoffs; they didn't always act on the feedback they received; and they were slow to jump on the AI train.
