Pros

For the most part I enjoy working here. There are excellent medical benefits. There's a medical office on-site, gym on site, pretty decent cafeteria. (All at QRTP locations). Great people for the most part, career development is encouraged. Work from home flexibility.

Cons

-Tiny, open cubes. We are squashed in there like sardines. There's absolutely no privacy whatsoever. If you need to take a personal call you might as well go down to the parking deck and sit in your car. -Hard work only pays off if you know the right people in upper management. If you work hard but the senior directors and execs don't know who you are, don't expect a promotion or any appreciation/recognition. -Annual performance rating system is seriously flawed: the rating scale is 1-5 (1 being lowest, 5 being absolutely stellar, perfect performance) and only a certain number of employees are 'allowed' to get 4s and 5s within the larger department as a whole. Again, if upper management doesn't know who you are, you won't get above a 3 even if you go above and beyond. Earning a 4 = promotion. -Certain departments get 'extras' like paid lunches & dinners and opportunities for team building off-site during work hours because there is such high turnover in those groups. Other groups do not get this benefit or the budget for it. -At least in GBO/CSMG, upper management is kind of a 'boys club' and if you're not in, don't expect any perks.

Pros

Resources and access to good studies to be successful in research, immediate PTO benefits, 401k match.

Cons

Growth opportunities/compensation - besides the annual merit raises of <3 percent I haven’t gotten a raise in 5 years.

Pros

The layoffs were handled quietly and unexpectedly, even though there were some early signs. They didn’t share who else was affected, but it was clearly more than just me.

Cons

They’re doing layoffs in phases, and my position was part of the most recent round.
