Pros

HS was a great place to work. It was a really fun ride while it lasted. Pros: - Excellent colleagues. Like, really really great people - Some benefits - Stock - We had such a strong culture in the leadership who ran the company before this mess: Halligan, Katie, JD, Dharmesh, Channing, CK, and others. - An outstanding product. It really is a great product that has been refined over years. It's taken the company years, collectively as teams, to build something really great - Real opportunity to be part of something truly great - Career opportunity and progression All the above being said, there are growing frustrations across the org. The core issues are that HS has lost its focus through poor Snr management.

Cons

- BURN OUT - People are burnt out. Look at the latest eNPS comments. Ive never worked in a saas company where the reps are bdr's, AE from start to finish, SE's, renewal managers and account managers for x/upsell... and yet you pay below industry standards but give the ceo a pay rise. - THE CEO... - needs to go. It's her mess not ours. Despite the company's image of her as a great leader she actually has really poor communication skills. She also really struggles to come across as authentic, trustworthy or possessing any empathy. - The new CEO recklessly over-hired, accepted no real responsibility and is now pushing everyone to the edge in a desperate attempt to fix this mess that she created. She has changed the culture of HS too much. --- AND, to top it all off you gave her a pay increase while you were firing people. That's disgusting! - LAYOFFS - You outright lied: you lost your credibility when you told us all that there was a bug in slack that was preventing us from commenting during the post layoffs AMA. You outright lied to everyone and got caught 'red handed'. - You told people for months that they were safe and then fired them. - Why mislead us? Why backtrack? Why lie about a bug in Slack? Why didn't you lead by example? - and dont forget the pay increase for Yamini. You have no shame - DI&B - We're too 'woke'. I'm liberal but we go way too far. Whatever is 'hot' within diversity the company jumps straight into it. You're obsessed with our gender and skin colour. I was shocked and alarmed when I joined. You also tend to not approve of people with differing opinions. And, ironically HS is actually one of the least diverse companies that I've worked in. Ultimately, HS is obsessed with the optics of diversity - that is, can the diversity be photographed? A CULT We're regularly referred to as a "cult", internally and externally There is almost an unspoken rule to blindly embrace the company's culture, no matter what. NO exceptions. Our HEART values are becoming increasingly irrelevant and diminished. We're also constantly reminded about how lucky we all are to work for HS and how amazing our leadership team is. - Drink the Kool-Aid or go thirsty.

This review is tough to read and includes some pretty harsh critiques of our leadership team and approach. I don't think we'll agree completely here, so I'll just say thanks for the feedback even though it's harsh to read and that I appreciate you sharing it. -Katie

Pros

The teams you work with are phenomenal. The knowledge combination between an internal customer facing teams, engineering product development teams, and Sales are unmatched.

Cons

Excessive use of PIPs to oust employees after multiple high revenue launches, with no explanation, actual documentation, or factual data. Reviews have been adjusted to allow for terminations post pre-approved leaves. Salaries are a joke. You are always in a cover yourself mode 24/7. Management reviews are consistently a 2 or 3 out of 5 no matter what. If a team decides you aren’t in the group, management will put you on a “unofficial” PIP without telling you, in order to surprise you at a later date. Even if they are unfounded. Beware of possibility of negative backlash post launches. They will feel the need to assign blame ( such as for timelines or issues related to bugs). Regardless of performance or level of involvement. This is an enormous company with many large paths for career advancement. But micro management is rampant, leaving little room for doing the daily expectations of your actual role. This degrades your opportunities for career advancement.
