Pros

remote first, asynchronous communication, talented people to work with and learn from, is considerably well-known so makes your resume stand out sometimes. fast-paced so you're going to ship things all the time. good pay.

Cons

fire/layoff people for no reason, even if they had no complaints about their work and the company is doing well in terms of revenue. Single-threaded ownership is a joke in terms of the quality of what's delivered. Like Expedia said and Hopper's CEO reinforced, they like to explore the consumer's anxiety to sell. stressful, you can't do all you need to do within your working hours. code quality isn't great, things break all the time. (not the employee's fault, is the company's fault) same for product and design maturity, STO doesn't allow it to get better and more organized. if you have other better options, just look at the reviews here and compare them - unless you're looking for money only, you'll probably find something better and more balanced.

Pros

pay, remote, some good/smart people in pockets

Cons

Senior leaders could not care less about employees and routinely make bad market decisions leading to foreseeable product issues and eventual layoff cycles. There was a time a few years back where employees criticized the dark patterns in the app - the president got pissed and said 'the data didn't show it was an issue', then a few months later when we got bad press about those patterns dismissed it as our competitors planting stories - sums up the culture pretty clearly.
