Pros

Convenient to commute to if living on the Southside of chicago

Cons

1.Very Low Payrate for the work we do. 2.Overly worked (Worse than Down town) Not worth the pay Period!!!!!! 3. Your treated like slaves, And housekeepers are called ambassadors or Servants.. Not Employees.(Pay rate low) 4. Bring you in for a room inspector position, and then interview you and start you as an room Attendant making lower than 10.00 an hour. 5. The Employee lunch is wack as oppose to downtown the quality and quantity is very poor, nothing to choose from. And silverware is always Dirty 6. In orientation there was an mice in the room coming in and from the kitchen area the whole time. 7. I had previously moved 2weeks before starting, New furniture and Everything, I take precautions when getting home from work.( From my previous Hilton jobs downtown) Take off uniform at the door and put it in a bag, Tie in a knot and take right down stairs to the laundry... Well the other day I found 2 bed bugs on my pants after Feeling A biting feeling during a bed making.. Had to pay 600 dollars to get my apartment treated. (not to mention a 2week pay check doesn't even Cover the expenses). So All around I loose out. 8. A very depressing work environment seems as though they're trying to take away people's dignity, I have over 8yrs experience, in the best downtown areas and Hilton hotels....I'm a Chicago resident( entitled to 12.00 minimum wage rate) a social security number, and college education... I Can't Accept Anything... I wasn't raised like that. I guess it's okay for people who really needs it, but not Me!!!! And that's the reason over 6 housekeepers walked out in the last 6weeks

Pros

Different services and softwares provided by Hilton are convenient to have access to.

Cons

The new PMS system, PEP, is awful. They got rid of F&B Distribution for night audit which means a lot less work for night auditors and way more work for accountants. PEP also doesn’t have the same functionalities as OnQ, the previous PMS. I have not heard any good thing about PEP after all these years. The team member travel discounts aren’t good anymore. They used to be flat rates across three tiers of hotels, but now they are extremely variable and can run very high. On top of that, hotels and resorts still charge team members for parking and service fees, so you still can’t afford to travel on the discount. That is, if you even find the team member rate available. Chances are, you’ll be working for a franchisee, not Hilton itself. They may be one of the world’s best companies to work for, but you probably won’t actually be working for them. California taxes and district fees felt mishandled by corporate.
