Pros

I worked for HD Supply Facilities Maintenance (headquartered in San Diego), and a year ago, it was a pretty good company. They had some issues, but overall, the team was trying very hard. And they cared about the people

Cons

Since mid year 2015, HQ (in Atlanta) decided to move HD Supply Facilities Maintenance from San Diego to Atlanta. Except, they did it pieces at a time, and ENSURED everyone that they weren't losing their job. At first, I agreed with the move, there's no reason why we'd pay for 2 CEOs and 2 headquarters when HQ kept selling off pieces of other businesses. Over the past 6 month, management has been lying directly to our faces. No formal letter has been drafted stating your actual last date when given the pink slip, everything has been in DRAFT. I finally left a month before my "draft" last day. I trained my replacement, per the agreement to collect the severance. Yet NO SEVERENCE was paid. New people coming on board are also leaving. Unless you're desperate, run away from this company. This is honestly happening to all 300+ employees in San Diego. I'm not exaggerating. Do not work here!

Thank you for your feedback. We take this and all reviews very seriously at HD Supply. While we can’t speak to each specific piece of feedback, we want to share our thoughts on some of the points made. Over the past ten years, we have brought approximately 153 collective companies together under one umbrella and, while doing so, never wavered from our goal of treating our associates with dignity and upholding the highest degree of integrity. Our San Diego decision was not made lightly. During that process, we are proud to have successfully transitioned a significant number of our talent to another HD Supply San Diego location. We also offered relocation to Atlanta to some of our associates, a number of whom chose not to move away from sunny San Diego. While a transition such as this one is certainly emotional for our many tenured associates, we feel proud of the work that was done. We are very excited about the future of HD Supply and our long-term decision to relocate our San Diego operations to Atlanta, Georgia. As a company, our core purpose is to improve our people’s lives and the lives of those in our communities. Breaking ground on a new, top-of-the-line facility in Atlanta for all of our phenomenal women and men so that they can flourish and thrive is a top priority for us, and we see it as a key differentiator from our competition. This facility will house our growing population and world-class leadership development and training facilities so that we can continue to deliver Best of the Best for our customers, shareholders, communities, and most importantly…Our People.

Pros

There is job security if you can get past the cons.

Cons

They say they care; unless you request a pay raise, a future path, ask the why's to policies, or ask if they would be willing to do a hybrid shift if they are not going to subsidize gas with the prices right now. Jacksonville is very cliquish, If you make their favorite supervisor made, then all of leadership is mad at you. They will find a way to fire you if they so please instead of giving you a chance to make improvements. Health is not important to them. You will pay 1400 dollars a month in insurance for your family, and if you use it, then get ready for those co-pays, They offer tuition program, unless you would like to be reimbursed per their SOP. Do not fear! You will not get a pay raise for education acheivements
