Pros

It is a great place to launch a career if you go into a leadership program or the corporate audit staff. Career advancement can happen quickly if you follow these programs, It is difficult for outside hires to establish themselves in the company. It is a fairly stable company to work for, there are few lay offs and for the most part all employees are kept in the loop as to how the company is doing so if there are layoffs they are pretty well predictable. Management does what they can to keep the best talent, and weed out others, so you will be sure to be working with some great people.

Cons

The biggest downside are the long hours that come with the job. As a finance professional you are the most utilized person in the organization which is great because your work truly gets used in management decisions, but even with the emphasis on finance the group as a whole is not fairly compensated for the amount of hours that is required of the job. The other downside for some is that in order to advance through the company you will be asked to move many times both within your home country and internationally which can be difficult for those with families.

Pros

My first job after college and my internship was a great experience. I learned a lot about medical devices and the medical device industry, and I even got promoted to site leader pretty quickly.

Cons

My training was nonexistent; I learned everything from medical device service manuals. In my region, a billion-dollar company offered no bonuses or decent pay, and the management was micromanaging and horrible.
