Pros

General Electric has great name recognition, and is a very well respected company. Their management training programs are well known and can be a great start to your career.

Cons

As with any large organization, the bureaucracy can be difficult to work through. Management does not move quickly to make decisions. GE is of course going through some interesting times, with businesses being sold off and reorganizations occurring leading to instability within some businesses, but is a sign of the times. Employee morale could be better. Traditionally, GE isn't a great paymaster since they believe it's made up for through the opportunity to work at GE at all.

Pros

My first job after college and my internship was a great experience. I learned a lot about medical devices and the medical device industry, and I even got promoted to site leader pretty quickly.

Cons

My training was nonexistent; I learned everything from medical device service manuals. In my region, a billion-dollar company offered no bonuses or decent pay, and the management was micromanaging and horrible.
