Pros

You will learn everything there is to know about government hiring. The HR specialist who work here are great at teaching all of the contractors what they know. They also try their best to assist in any way possible in getting the contractors federal positions. Your task monitor is great about allowing you to make up time.

Cons

Your actual FSA boss is no where to be found. She's reachable by phone and sometimes by email. When there are issues that occur on the job, as an FSA employee, you do not feel as though you have support on site. Additionally, when your task monitor becomes frustrated she will take it out on you in a disrespectful and belittling manner. In my personal experience, it as been very embarrassing. In this position the task monitor will volunteer you for tasks or to be the lead on projects which contractors should not be in charge of. In the year and a half I was an FSA employee I saw my actual FSA boss 3 times, which in unacceptable.

As a government contractor, career advancement can be limited by the positions ordered by our customers; however, we actively support employee growth through a variety of professional development opportunities and we encourage employees to apply for higher-level roles when they become available.
