Pros

Co-workers are knowledgeable. They have many openings available if you are willing to relocate. Depending upon which agency you work for; flexibility in your job responsibilities is possible..

Cons

No room for advancement within the organization unless a position opens, but more than likely it would be in another state. FSA does not pay for relocation expenses if you were able to land a transfer. No salary increases unless AWD (area wage determination) changes. This has not occurred in many years.

Dear Employee – It is good to hear that you find your FSA co-workers knowledgeable, and our company flexible. As you have stated, FSA does have several open positions currently available. However, the number of open positions vary depending upon where you work. For example, FSA has employees spread across the continental United States, and we have employees in Guam, Puerto Rico, Alaska and Hawaii. It is true that we generally have more open opportunities in the larger cities. Most of our positions are covered by the Service Contract Act, and we do not currently offer relocation assistance for those positions. However, we would be glad to discuss opportunities for advancement with you directly if you would like to reach out to us.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you experienced a healthy work-life balance and felt supported by your management team. As a government contractor, career advancement can be limited by the positions ordered by our customers; however, we actively support employee growth through a variety of professional development opportunities and we encourage employees to apply for higher-level roles when they become available. We welcome continued feedback and invite you to connect with your FSA Senior Manager to see how we can further support you on your career journey.
