Pros

Work life balance. Currently 100% WFH is permitted but looks like this is ending. Good place to get a lot of experience and responsibility early on in your career. You should then leave for better salary elsewhere like most other people do.

Cons

Everything is about maintaining a high profit margin at every level of the organisation. Managers think you can replace a senior developer with 20+ years experience with a graduate developer or two, and things will work fine. Lots of talk about innovation, looking after employees. Innovation is posting your idea on one of the many ideas websites - best case the company will make some big money from it and you might get a $500 thank you. The only real innovation is the companies that suddenly get acquired. All existing companies are just revenue machines and made to do everything the exact same FIS way (just ask the Worldpay guys). Even the existing product names are being erased. Old : xyz. New : FIS Client Tax Avoidance Optimizer Hub. There are a lot of very legacy systems, once you lose the experienced people to run them you are lost. Pay those people market rate - clue, that's just risen 10%-30% depending on country.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate the time you have taken to write your review and are happy to hear that you appreciate Work-life balance, WFH options, Experience opportunities, and other benefits provided at FIS. As you mentioned, FIS continues to grow and develop through a mix of organic growth and acquisitions, and sometimes that requires change across various aspects of the organization, including reorganization in business units. Also, 2020 was an unprecedented year for the world and for FIS. We unexpectedly and quickly pivoted in several areas to ensure we were laser-focused on what’s important, and that is our colleagues, clients, and communities. This included investments in new health and safety protocols throughout the organization and new wellness programs, including COVID-19 time off and enhanced medical, well-being, and mental health resources. With that being said, FIS is not immune from the financial impact the pandemic has had on businesses globally. As a result, we faced an unusual compensation year for 2021 but are planning on a normal compensation cycle for 2022.

Pros

Most colleagues are well intentioned, but stretched beyond the max.

Cons

After filing for FMLA, my “leader” encouraged me not to involve HR in the future. The whole point of FMLA is job protection. Him making this suggestion, at best, seems highly unethical and potentially illegal. Some leaders are good with people. Others are more techno sound. The ones that can effectively do both are let go. It makes no sense and the company offers little transparency.
