Pros

Throughout my time at FIS, I have always had knowledgeable, hard-working colleagues. My direct managers (of which I've had several) have been a mix of incompetent and capable, but for the most part have been very good managers. In my experience the company has been fairly flexible regarding working from home and granting time off.

Cons

There is little to no room for advancement within the company, unless you like to take on more responsibility without any significant pay increase. It is very political and promotions seem to be granted based on how well an employee plays politics rather than according to ability. It is extremely difficult to get a raise above 3%. Upper management seems extremely out of touch with what actually motivates employees. The company is highly bureaucratic. Communication from management and between departments could be better.

Pros

Most colleagues are well intentioned, but stretched beyond the max.

Cons

After filing for FMLA, my “leader” encouraged me not to involve HR in the future. The whole point of FMLA is job protection. Him making this suggestion, at best, seems highly unethical and potentially illegal. Some leaders are good with people. Others are more techno sound. The ones that can effectively do both are let go. It makes no sense and the company offers little transparency.
