Pros

ok salary and benefits, compared to the level of the local labor marked, security in the employment, almost impossible to get fired, there is an ok work environment in terms of good colleagues and novone get stressed

Cons

ExxonMobil in Prague is a business service center, and this is important to realize. The service center is placed in Prague because of the cheap labor force that can be used to perform operational tasks. This means that no decisions are made in Prague and 98 percent of the positions are entry level positions, all managers are brought in from abroad (1300 people, most of them with college degree work there and no one are promoted to Managers and fairly no one are transferred to decision making business units). So in respect to career options ExxonMobil Prague it is a big DEAD END !! That it is a service center for operations only also affect work satisfaction. Everything is rule driven with detailed work instructions and employees are expected to work like “semi programed robots”. The quality of supervisors are poor, most of them are college graduates without any human resources or leadership skills or experience. So for experienced or ambitious employees ExxonMobil Prague sucks. Never the less as an entry job to get experiences for fresh graduates or young non Czechs who want to work abroad for a while it can be ok

Pros

Good opportunities for networking and travel.

Cons

A significant HR issue between interns occurred during my internship and was handled very poorly. Once the matter came to HR’s and leadership’s attention, it was not officially resolved until months after the internship had ended. The VP privately apologized for the situation, but the overall response was inadequate and felt as though the situation was being swept under the rug. The lack of timely communication and follow-up created a very uncomfortable environment for a young intern and significantly impacted what was otherwise a positive internship experience.
