Pros
Some benefits are great, others are just there for show. 100% paid health insurance Big name and big player in the video game company There are some really cool people here The employee events are fun. They have a really amazing summer family picnic. They pull out all the stops and really go above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience. You get a mandatory week off for Christmas and two weeks off in the summer Free lunch every day, 5 different options People play video games during their work day, even if they shouldn't They put a lot of effort and thought into the benefits and employee morale offerings
Cons
They are reactionary. Nothing is planned in advance. Projects and work happen last minute and things are changed 100% of the time at the last minute. Everyone is overworked and expected to be on call. Ask what the culture is, it roughly translates to "workaholic". People are scared to take vacation. So now they mandate 3 weeks a year where the company closes down and most people are off. But this just made it harder to take time off outside of these weeks. Contrary to the benefits doc, there is no flex work/schedules. You are expected to work in the office at least 9.5 hours a day. Your manager unofficially approves and sets which hours you work. You won't know if you're displeasing your manager until review time. People stay for the benefits, learn to shut up and not make waves. Poor managment skills. HR is pro management and managers/HR plays favorites.
