Pros

Good benefits, good people, a lot of responsibility up front, selling a good product. The nice thing is that the company truly cares about customer experience...the bad this is they don't care about their employees.

Cons

Overworked staff: Work about 50 hour weeks throughout the whole year except summers w/ no overtime pay-- does not make up for the bonus you could potentially earn with sales. Low Pay: Very low pay compared to industry standards and low bonus compared to other sales positions. The bonus structure is terrible and doesn't reward long-term growth. No work/life balance: You are overworked and you are poor...so you work more to try and make it by. Childish management: Reward their employees based upon a popularity contest rather than actual performance. Very inexperienced management. High Turnover: Most people only stay for a year or less. The company seems to invest a lot in marketing how "cool" it is to work at EF in order to support the high turnover, so they can avoid paying experienced employees more and hire new people they can pay almost minimum wage. Minimal room for growth: A few people manage to move laterally, but there isn't much room for upward growth at all.

Pros

You get to choose your tour and recruit the students you want to bring. The paid chaperone ratio is 6:1, so it is very manageable. The tours are great and the local experts are wonderful.

Cons

Company support is variable. There is high turnover and new consultants are very sales motivated and don't always get the nuances of your school or community group. I have had some WONDERFUL concusltants, but they have always been promoted before I get to work with them again.
