Fun, fast-paced and very challenging - Director EF (Education First) Employee Review

Pros

The work itself is literally life-changing for our customers. The people who work here are young, passionate and energetic. The opportunity to travel internationally is incredible. The environment is very entrepreneurial and innovative; no shortage of exciting changes. Everyone is expected to take ownership of their work and act with autonomy. There is no linear career path. If you're a rock star, you can move around and try new things. Very flat environment, not really hierarchical. Everyone is accessible, including c-suite.

Cons

I've seen some leaders of products or divisions do a poor job of change management. Moving fast can be a good thing, but it's really disruptive and demotivating if you don't take into account how to bring the team along with you and involve them in those changes.

Pros

Well structured, comprehensive formal training. Perks and benefits

Cons

Once training is done, you’re pretty much on your own to figure things out. The weekly meetings with your manager end. You spend all day on the phones and there’s not a whole lot of interaction or collaboration going on in the office or across your team. At the end of the day it is a job and the perks and benefits are nice (travel). It just seemed social interaction of any kind, even to ask questions, was discouraged and in fact was viewed as distracting. The cold calling just gets to be tiring after a while, making it hard to stay at the job for longer than 1-2 years. Good entry level sales job, though.
