Pros

Lucky money "sometimes" Being able to stop dashing if it's too unsafe to drive. Unlike most delivery companies like pizza delivery.

Cons

A lot of things Rating system punishes drivers severely. I can have 10 good ratings and 1 bad one and it destroy all the progress I made. Even when majority of order are on time, and alyways checked. I recieve bad ratings on on-time deliveries waiting at resturaunts for 20-30 minutes and food is fresh hot. Prior to his I was already a delivery driver for a real company, So i have pretty good experience. Before my 200th delivery tonight. i had a steady 4.76-4.8 for a long time. Then 1 delivery I am at 4.68 all over again. back when i was 4.68 every 5 star rating gave me 0.01 progress. These deliveries are sealed. If they are missing items it is the restaurants fault, not the driver. The order was fresh and hot just made. The orders are usually sealed so dashed don't tamper. But even if you are not late on your side of the phone. You're 25 minutes later than the customer expected. Because doordash and both doordash driver are unfair, and extremelyThis app also has been dwindling in business anyways, and constantly change their qualification standards for dasher perk unlocks. I think doordash may be the most successful yet frustrating food delivery service there is. It is also unsafe but at least you have the freedom to stop dashing whenever. Unlike when i actually food delivered. This makes me never want to dash again, even though I have a high average rating still. Its just demotivating to dash when such a flawed system is in place. Pay has also been weak. too may drivers to customers apparently.

Pros

If you are considering working with this platform, be aware that the management model is built on deliberate ambiguity. The app and software are designed to keep you in a constant state of uncertainty regarding your performance metrics. There is no transparency regarding how jobs are assigned or how your work is actually evaluated. This appears to be a calculated strategy to keep workers chasing 'better status' without ever providing a clear path to achieve it. You will never know if you are truly meeting expectations because the system is intentionally opaque. Approach with caution if you value transparency and clear communication.

Cons

The supposed 'flexibility' of this role is actually a double-edged sword. While the platform advertises freedom, it functions as a lack of structure and support. Because the performance metrics are intentionally opaque, the 'independence' of the job feels more like isolation. You are left guessing if your efforts are actually valued or just another input in an algorithm that doesn't prioritize worker success.
