Pros
As other reviewers have stated, some wonderful, friendly, and smart people work at DAC on the ground level. The culture when you join the team will feel very supportive and positive for this reason, but don’t let it rope you into doing more than you are paid, contracted, and recognized for.
Cons
Effective leadership, management, and overall competence and communication is sorely lacking, especially within the Rochester and Purchase offices. There seems to be very little regard for employees’ well-being, with concerns about workload, lack of staffing, and unclear processes ignored under the guise of keeping things positive and solution-oriented. Instead, it’s resulted in increased resignations, unhappy employees, and poorer quality work for our clients. I have also observed that management only tends to promote the individuals who are willing to work overtime without pay and/or those who do not question the poor leadership and are willing to continue toxic and condescending management and communication strategies. Last, on the topic of communication, I’ve never seen a company as established as DAC have such disjointed communication. Additional work is often given to employees without any advance notice, and certain perks or company policies have been rolled back without notice. Information and best practices within teams are constantly conflicting. Overtime pay doesn’t apply to some teams, and employees in these teams are told they need to work late without pay. I believe employees deserve more respect and compensation than this, which is why I cannot recommend working at DAC.
