Pros

product knowledge effective training teamshare program teamwork occasional perks positive attitudes seemed drama free for the most part customers are loyal I think pay was decent enough, but not many hours were available management seemed very strong and unified reiteration of opportunity for growth (I worked in the men's) all of these I value in a company and Coach is a model company in this regard

Cons

I'm a bit torn about this company, and this is from the pov of working in the stores....at first it seems like a simpler and healthier work environment than retail jobs usually entail. However, there is rampant favoritism, and many times I felt like I was being subjected to eerie brainwashing. Also, I noticed promotions weren't given fairly. I agree with posters that have mentioned they are given to favorites, and that you have to brown nose... at this company you have to be sipping the corporate kool aid to get ahead. Seems very difficult for those, even talented, educated, and eager ones, that want to jump into corp hq from a store. for such a basic position, there are too many rules, too much pressure for a simple job, way too serious most of the time, micromanaging. I could deal with it because I was part time. But if I was fulltime and not moving up quick enough I would have had a difficult time. I agree with other posters about the faux commission environment. Even customers could feel the "pushiness" and asked me if we worked on commission a couple of times. I think the company asks way too much personal info and I really hated being placed as a cashier because of it.

Pros

- fast paced days with lots of client interaction and team building moments - fun product dropped monthly with opportunities to be the first to own popular drops - opportunities to grow* - a great starting place to learn how to provide an elevated shopping experience and learn how to build a client book

Cons

- * Opportunities to grow only present themselves if you have a positive relationship with the management team and/or the DM - Corporate tends to lead on candidates and promise advancements or change verbally but little is done to correct behavior or advance within the company - Your store manager will determine whether the team is harmonious and fair, can be a double edged sword - you will be asked to do tasks or take on projects outside of your position with no additional compensation. It will be heavily frowned upon to decline said opportunities and tended to lead to being denied advancements - during ICE activities in the city, Coach refused to make a statement and or provide guidelines to how we as a store should respond. Associates were punished for absences related back to ICE activities
