Pros

Can be very people orientated, investment in and value given to people over money Good benefits for employees, eg 10% disc at Food, special rates on concert tix, pension etc Ethical (depending on which area/ who you work for) Pretty good salary vs market Nice flash head office!

Cons

Unfocused, confused employees - lack of strategy so managers don't know what's going on or what to focus on Businesses work in silos, the group isn't joined up For an 'open and honest' business, what goes on in the group is hushed up, Managers not living the cooperative values Poor recruitment approach - if you know someone or the face fits then you're in.

Pros

Team got on well, hours weren't particularly harsh (pay not particularly impressive either)

Cons

Overworked due to corporate ruthlessly cutting hours (while hiring more staff?), generally piling on more and more work to the store team without considering time constraints, absolutely no opportunity for advancement while a store manager is already there
