Pros
-Plenty of things to do on every shift, meaning you never get bored and shifts go quick -A good holiday entitlement -Plenty of opportunities to snap up overtime hours - A good pension plan in place
Cons
-Required to work very hard, and do a lot of jobs -Paid only something like £0.50-0.75 extra per hour than Customer Team Members (CTM's), considering the amount of extra work and responsibility that comes with the Team Leader job, it isn't worth it i.e. the difference in pay does not reflect the difference in workload. Other supermarkets pay their team leaders considerably higher. -Poor training, in terms of quality and duration. Left to pick it up yourself and deal with situations you weren't trained on -Massive lack of feedback (constructive criticism) but plenty of indirect negative comments aimed at you -Colleagues willing to do anything to put themselves ahead of you in terms of status and promotions -Very difficult to take your entitled breaks, if you do, then you will often fail to finish your shift on time -No bonuses for meeting or exceeding Sales targets even though Team Leaders play a big role in Sales, and are always encouraged to try to boost Sales -Not guaranteed to have your holidays approved by any means, sometimes the store manager dictates when your annual leave will be used
