Co-op Response
3moThanks for taking the time to share your review. It’s great to hear you’ve experienced friendly colleagues and a busy store environment, that sense of teamwork is really important to us.
We’ve noted your points about time pressures, breaks and shift patterns. These things can vary from store to store, and there are steps that can often be addressed locally to help improve the experience for colleagues.
Rotas should be published at least three weeks in advance, and where possible they should follow a clear and predictable pattern rather than feeling random. If your rota is difficult to plan around, or if breaks and task workloads aren’t landing as they should, the best route is to raise this directly with your store manager or team leader. They can look at how the rota is being created, how tasks are being prioritised, and whether adjustments can be made within the needs of the store.
Staffing levels and the ability to take breaks are also influenced by how tasks are planned and shared across the team, so speaking with your manager gives them the chance to review what’s happening on the ground and make changes where appropriate. Your manager will be receptive, but if you feel that you need to talk to someone else about this, you can go to your Operations Manager to share any concerns too.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience as a newer colleague, it’s really helpful to hear what’s working well and where things feel more challenging.
