Pros

My first job but my salary is higher than the average back in 2020. I love the work that i do and the flexibility that is allowed in the company.

Cons

My department, did not really provide room for growth, very traditional department head. The message from HQ is different from what is really implemented onsite e,g, flexibility. Manager is micro-managing. I feel like if I got into a better team lead/department head, I would have stayed with the company. Finally, the deciding factor for me to leave was after I aired my concerns multiple times, not only was I not heard but I was told that I was 'too young' to grow further in the team.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
