Pros

Good health insurance, diversity committees and on site gym. Many different nationalities. A lot of thinking on your feet and problem solving which can be good experience.

Cons

Citi Dublin is a very large organisation so your experience depends on where you work, there isnt much consistency. In my experience senior manager are poor leaders. Communication is diabolical from this level unless it is constant emails and town halls about Citi values and culture. As an example I heard from someone drunk on a work night out that my manager was leaving, this person who told me was in a completely different department to me. In some areas overtime is mandatory, work is deadline driven and the pressure is huge so you can forget about work life balance if you want to succeed in your day to day job. Systems are prehistoric, checks upon checks are put in place to compensate meaning more work and pressure for employees to do the work that should be automated. Citi spends a lot of time promoting its image and supporting charities like Pieta house which is great but it is hypocritical when they don't prioritise their employees well being. Do more with less is the mantra regardless of the cost. If you choose to work in Citi be aware expectations are high, training is being thrown in at the deep end, stress and pressure can be extremely difficult to manage with little support from management. Most of all make sure you put your well being first working in this place.

Pros

Great benefits (PTO, healthcare, etc.) for FTEs

Cons

Everything else - Carousel of management changes - Vague and ever-changing role/job descriptions and associated metrics - The constant feeling that we're all about to be laid off but must "prove" our value in the meantime
