Pros

The bank offers tremendous advancement potential if you are willing to move to New York. There are also other divisions that an individual can transfer to. The bank's brand is extremely strong. Compensation both monetary and through other benefits is very very competitive. this is evidenced through the longevity of many of its employees.

Cons

Citibank has a reputation for being a "big business" bank and not caring to service smaller clients. In my experience this is true. Also, the bank is huge and support for the individual is almost non existent. One must be completely self sufficient to survive there. Lower level managers are not that great in my experience.

Pros

Hybrid schedule, supportive managers, opportunities

Cons

Once you’re in, comp basically plateaus. Layoffs are happening across the board, which tends to be the full-time culture of citi. The vibe is very much “run lean” until something actually breaks, and only then consider adding headcount. You have to be intentional about protecting your work-life balance, because the implicit expectation is that you’re always on—24/7, 365—without the support of a properly staffed team.
