Pros

Shifts go by fast, can be super fun if you have a good crew, learn some super useful culinary skills (esp. knife skills), it's fun to prep the food (IF you have enough people), hours of business are perfect (to me) the earliest shift isnt too early and closing shift isn't too late

Cons

If you have a bad GM then unfortunately your experience probably won't be good. They run the show when it comes to making sure you have adequate staff to run the shifts. Sometimes you will get a GM who does not care/ does not help/ sits in the office the whole time and that's when its miserable because Chipotle is a job where if you are short on crew then it truly sucks. On the other hand, if you have a GM that actually cares about always staffing the restaurant correctly (enough people on the line + on prep + on grill, basically never one man down) then your experience will most likely be pretty good!! Some GM's will step in to a position if need be because they don't want their crew working 5 positions but some don't care. I've had multiple GM's and every shift I think back on was either really fun or really miserable and it all fell back on who was the store manager.

Pros

Learning and growing to cultivate your own career path into a competent General Manager. The hours are longer than regular but the position is labeled as salary hourly with a minimum of 50 hours per week which guarantees 10 hours if overtime per week.

Cons

The long hours can be tiring and the expectations are less than or equivalent to that of a General Manager and depending who your boss is dependent on what you learn and how you can grow.
